We’ve all been there, dear. Whether you’re always on the go living that fast paced life or whether you’re bouncing toddlers on your hips left and right all day long as you load and unload the dishwasher while sipping on your third cup of coffee, we’ve all at some point in our lives had this epiphany.
I need to start taking care of myself. The years are rolling on and as sweet memories are being made with everyone around you, a nightmare has seemed to form in the reflection of your mirror! You’re not that 16 year old anymore who can eat junk food and stay up late without paying for it the next morning. Everything you’re doing now is seeming to have an immediate effect on your skin and for someone who’s never really had much of a skin care routine, where do you start? I mean, is it absolutely pointless to even attempt trying to take care of your face now that those little grays are starting to make their lovely appearance?
YES. YES. YES.
It’s NEVER too late to start taking care of yourself and you know what, sweet lady? You deserve that. You bust your tail all day long doing what you do. You’re practically superwoman and yet, you take no time for yourself, to invest in YOU. So, let’s not get overwhelmed at the starting point of the skin care process. It’s really actually a whole lot easier than you’d think.
STEP ONE: GO TO BED.
Yeah, I see you staring at this screen at 2 am. You’ve worked all day long and have had no time to just unwind, so when and how and where do you do this? At 2 am on your phone in your bed. The first step in working on clear and gorgeous skin is to get plenty of rest every single night – this gives your skin time to renew cell damage that happened throughout the day. This also helps prevents those gorgeous dark circles/ bags under your eyes that are inevitable if you’re up until sunrise. Get some sleep. Trust me. You deserve to have at least 7 to 8 hours a night with as hard as you work!
STEP TWO: EAT REAL FOOD.
So, just in case you were wondering, a pop tart is not considered real food. Processed food is filled with all kinds of saturated fats and unhealthy chemicals that leave your skin lifeless. Put into your body things like strawberries, grapes and blueberries – food containing antioxidants that are AMAZING for your skin and complexion. If you put in garbage, you can expect not so pretty results when it comes to the health and glow of your skin, so choose to eat food that’s natural, healthy and not stuffed with tons of chemicals!
STEP THREE: WASH YOUR FACE. LIKE, EVERY DAY.
No, I’m not talking about washing your face with nothing but a rag and water from the shower you’re taking. Girl, we’ve got to step up your skin care game in this area! You need to be taking off that makeup you’re wearing and you need to be doing it every single night before your face hits that pillow. Not only that, but when you wake up each morning, you need to be washing your face then as well. Have you ever woken up with a pretty little red dot on your face that wasn’t there the night before? Yeah, that’s because our skin takes in what’s on our face while we sleep! For a cleanser that’s going to exfoliate, tone and hydrate your skin, let me connect you with Senegence’s Senederm 3 in 1 Cleanser. I rave about this stuff because thanks to my cleanser, my skin looks a million time better than it did when I found myself in your shoes.
I get you, because I WAS you! Invest in a cleanser that’s going to invest back in YOU.
Hear me when I say that you truly do deserve to take time for yourself and invest in your skin. Let’s take baby steps to getting your complexion glowing on the outside in the way I know you already glow on the inside!
